More about ARO ::

The Animal Rescue Organisation was established in 1986 specifically to address the plight of animals living in township and informal settlement communities around the Cape. Thousands of animals live in amongst the poorest community settlements and up until 1986 had limited access to welfare services. The result of this was untold suffering and rampant overbreeding of both dogs and cats.

So it is with great pride that Animal Rescue can now boast a successful hospital facility as well as the services of 3 Mobile Clinics manned by trained animal welfare assistants. Over 20 000 sick animals receive our care every year and from humble beginnings working from the back of cars, we now hold an essential part of the animal welfare sector in the Western Cape of South Africa.

ANIMAL HOSPITAL
Fully equipped and professionally run hospital that focuses on providing veterinary treatment to the surrounding impoverished communities who are unable to afford private veterinary treatment.

Open daily from 08h30 - 16h00

MOBILE CLINICS
ARO has 3 Mobile Clinics traveling to approximately 40 informal settlements and impoverished communities weekly. We provide access to basic veterinary care, such as:

-Dipping against Mange and other skin diseases
-Deworming
-Diagnosis of wounds and diseases requiring hospital treatments
-Nutritional Advice and provision of subsidised dog and cat feeds
-Sterilisation
-Vaccination
