Bandages off

Azzan's bandages came off today.  Now he's just waiting on his orthotics which will help stabilise the joints while he gains his muscle and strength back.

The wounds are healing nicely but need to be completely closed before he can wear his braces.

Dr Kelly suggested this honey, so Liam is applying it to the wounds to help them heal.

Food Appeal :: Border Collie Rescue

This plea goes out to a network of people that I know all help in whatever way and means they can and support a number of organisations already. I therefor don’t do this light-heartedly…
Border Collie Rescue Cape Town however finds itself in a very difficult position of only having food supplies until Monday, 29 April 2013. This leaves me with no alternative than asking for help.

Looking for a Home - Basil (Namibia)

Photo: We are looking for a loving and wonderful permanent home for this amazing boy. Quick update for those who have not been following Basil’s story from the start ~ Basil was rescued in Rocky Crest about two months ago, someone threw boiling water over the whole of his left side (only a small patch still visible where the hair will still grow) Dr. Beggs has been treating Basil and Basil is still currently living with his foster mom (Ute Finke 081 423 9335) on her plot just on the outskirts of Windhoek. Both have been wonderful in Basil’s recovery process.

Basil is ready for a loving permanent home now. I had a long talk with dr. Beggs and he recommended that the wonderful person that will be adopting Basil first visits Basil a few times on the plot in order to gain Basil’s trust. Basil is protective of his environment and is the type of dog that won’t trust just every unknown person from the start (which is a very good thing). He gets along generally very well with other dogs (as is clear from the pics) and is playful and lively. Dr. Beggs also said that Basil is very active, like a border collie and will need a lot of exercise. He also gave some very useful advice (which I will share with the new owner) in order to make the transition to the new home as smooth as possible.

The ideal home would be one with a lot of space, or if the erf is not that big, he will need to be taken for daily walks. Basil is very loving and forms a very strong bond once you have gained his trust….He is looking for a special owner that will take very good care of him and will give him lots of attention and love and he will be your best friend forever. Last surgery

Feeling very groggy and sore after his last surgery to remove the pins holding the tendons in place.  He also no longer has to wear the splints.  Now it's just plenty of rest and TLC!
