I saw this ad on Gumtree this morning and thought I'd share it here as it is such an important message:
Please dont offer pets for free, rather ask even R100 or R200 to try and sway these pathetic people from taking your pet as bait.
Ask for assistance from Animal Welfares

- African tails
- Animal Anti-Cruelty League
Many of these organisations have a database of true animal lovers who will assist in finding your pet a home through their networks
Please Please Rather Network to find your pet a home, its the least you can do.
I will continue to repost this advert in an attempt to educate people who dont realise this happens (I also only recently discovered this after trying to get one of our dogs adopted!!!)

are disgusting inhumane excuses for human beings lurking among us who
collect your pet whom you can no longer care for promising good homes
only to throw them into a cage as 'bait' for their FIGHTER DOGS!!
These
poor defenseless creatures are then sometimes CHAINED UP so that they
cannot even run away and while you are sitting at home assuming your pet
