Food Appeal :: Animal Welfare Helderberg

We received a plea for food from the Animal Welfare Helderberg on 03 Jun 2013, so went shopping and got a load of dog, puppy, cat and kitten food for them.

We are absolutely DESPERATE DESPERATE DESPERATE for dog and cat food. We have almost nothing left and our kennels are filled to capacity. If anyone can help us, no matter how small the donation, we will be so grateful. Food can be dropped off at the kennels in Gordon's Bay or at our shop at 42 Reitz Street in Somerset West. If anyone would like to make a donation our banking details are: Animal Welfare Helderberg, Standard Bank, Acc no 072286547, Branch Code 033012. Thank you xxx

Please consider dropping a bag or two of food off at your nearest shelter - they could really use your help.

AWH Have a fantastic facility with spacious shelters and exercise yards for the dogs.  You can visit them every day between 09h00 - 16h00 (including weekends and public holidays).
They rely on public donations and the generous spirit of animal lovers and  are always looking for volunteers to help them out. If you would like to be of service, here are a few ways you can get involved:

Dog volunteers: spending time with the dogs in camps, grooming them, providing them with love and one-on-one attention
Cat volunteers: brushing them, giving them one-on-one attention, helping them find new homes (especially the adult cats)
Maintenance: fixing of camp fences, repairing cattery, cutting lawns, assisting with cleaning and tidying of the site
Fundraising: helping out at fundraising events by selling raffles, baking cakes, needle work, hand crafts, running a stall
Jumble Inn: donating any good quality clothes/books/house hold goods for re-sale, helping sort and price the goods, attend to the public
Street collection: shake a tin and collect money on our street collection days
